On the 23rd of March 2018, Endangered Daughters Initiative (EDI) Team visited Omuma Etche Community Secondary School to extend its hand of strength and empowerment to the young girls of the school. During the visit, Stella Osuagwu (host) facilitated an awareness session to communicate relevant information to the audience such as personal hygiene, academic excellence, understanding menstrual cycle, marriage, role of women in the society, skill acquisition and career paths.

The young ladies asked series of questions and the EDI team was able to provide meaningful answers and also ascertain the views of the young ladies as it relates to life generally. Materials such as exercise books, sanitary pads, print out for further reading were distributed amongst the young ladies.

The questions asked and responses by the students revealed that this young girls in the rural area are at disadvantage when compared to their peers in urban areas. This observation further fuelled the EDI’s interest and dedication to reaching out to more young ladies in the rural areas.

It was indeed a memorable day in the lives of these future leaders. At no point did they believe that such information significant in shaping their future would be cascaded to them. At the end of the awareness session, 80% of the young ladies committed to working assiduously to ensure they become leaders in various sectors.

The young ladies were very happy and have now refused to settle for less as they continue on the journey to woman hood. Endangered Daughters Initiatives was stunned by the reception from the school leadership, especially the principal who took the pain of hosting the EDI team.

The principal committed to supporting the initiative to enable us reach out to more schools and young ladies. The programme manager Nnamdi Chiadikobi is currently working with other stakeholders to have a wider coverage and improve the benefits offered to the young girl child.

We can help the poor young ladies by providing them books, paper, pens and other things so that they can also get comfort. Instead of using payforessay review we can search for the funds link that will help the ladies.
